Review: JUNOCO Cleansing Balm, Clarifying Powder and Cleansing Cookie
If you’re looking to add a new cleanser into your skincare routine that is environmentally conscious, effective yet affordable, you’re in the right place! I’m excited to collaborate with JUNOCO to bring you a full review of 3 of their cleansers, each with a different purpose. I have been using these products for 3-4 weeks with both light and heavy makeup looks, day and night, so that I am able to see just how effectively these have been working. Read below to find out more about JUNOCO and for a breakdown of the Clean 10 Cleansing Balm, Clarifying Cleansing Powder and the Cleansing Cookie.

Clean 10 Cleansing Balm
What is it?
A balm-to-oil cleanser made using 10 key ingredients to help dissolve your makeup. This cleanser comes with a mini spatula to scoop out the product from the tub which then melts into a silky-smooth, naturally fragrant oil that can be massaged all over your face and neck.
The main ingredient is Japanese Barley which is responsible for brightening your overall complexion and reducing dark spots with continued use. The formulation of this cleanser is made to be suitable for all skin types, effectively removing all traces of makeup and impurities on the skin without stripping away your skin’s natural oils.
How did it do?
10/10. This product is a must-have if you’re looking for something to remove heavy makeup effortlessly or want a cleanser that doesn’t leave your skin feeling tight or dry afterwards. The packaging is also quite luxurious and sturdy and I love that it comes with a second lid to keep the product intact and a spatula to scoop the product out hygienically.
Right from the moment I scooped the product out of the tub (ASMR of this here) and began rubbing the balm in my fingertips to an oil consistency, I could tell that this was a high-quality and luxurious product. The citrus fragrance was refreshing yet not overpowering and within seconds I could see my full face of makeup dissolving effortlessly! I used this product to gently remove eyeshadow, eyeliner and mascara and it’s safe to say that I had 0 issues doing so. The cleanser magically melted my makeup and I was able to rinse everything off without any stickiness left on my skin.
The first time I used this product, I was amazed at how the cleanser was able to remove ALL of my makeup as well as how instantly brighter my complexion was. Given that eye makeup is more stubborn, I was surprised to see I had no leftover eyeliner left and my eyelashes felt soft and mascara-free. After this, using the Clean 10 Cleansing Balm was something I looked forward to in my evening routine - it’s a plus for me that the cleanser helps brighten my complexion as dark spots and scarring are one of my main skin concerns.
Would I recommend it?
This product should 100% be on your “Skincare to buy” list! It is the most effective balm-to-oil cleanser I have used and for the price point, you are getting 85g of a high-quality product.
Even though this product can be used day or night, my personal preference is to use this in the evening to take off makeup (as the first cleanser if you prefer to double cleanse). In my opinion, I wouldn’t want to “waste” this product on cleansing my no-makeup face but there is no reason why you can’t if you’re looking for an oil cleanser that’s gentle and keeps your skin bright and hydrated.
The product currently only comes in one size (85g) and although the packing is sleek, some might find this too bulky to travel with. Having said that, the cleanser does a great job on its own and can be used day and night so it’s ideal if you usually use more than one cleansing product in your routine.
Clarifying Cleansing Powder
What is it?
This cleanser is a powder-to-foam formulation that can be used day or night which is made to effectively refresh your skin while the key ingredient Rice Lees works to hydrate and strengthen your skin’s barrier.
The powder is activated into a foam consistency with a few drops of water which then can be massaged all over your face and neck to reveal a cleansed, bright and hydrated complexion. With the addition of Papaya Extract and Rice Powder, this cleanser gently exfoliates away dead skin cells, resulting in a clear and radiant glow after use.
How did it do?
I was already astonished by the Clean 10 Cleansing Balm so I had high expectations when I tried out the Clarifying Cleansing Powder and this did not disappoint! The powder activated quickly with just a little bit of water (many powder cleansers stray gritty and don’t foam which doesn’t work effectively) and it was really gentle to massage into my skin. Like the Clean 10 Cleansing Balm, my complexion was instantly brighter and smoother but my skin did not feel tight or dry at all. I use this cleanser in the daytime and also in the evening when I am wearing just skincare or as a second cleanser after using the Clean 10 balm.
Would I recommend it?
If you’re looking for a gentle daily exfoliating product or a simple cleanser to add to your routine, I would recommend trying out this Clarifying Powder. A bonus is that this product is in powder form so if you’re travelling often, you don’t need to worry about adding this to your liquids bag or leaking! The cleanser also comes with a protective cap to prevent the powder from pouring out.
I have used this product more regularly than the Clean 10 Cleansing Balm and I have noticed the improvement of my skin’s texture and overall brightness of my complexion with continued use. As someone who’s quite busy and often forgets to use a weekly exfoliating mask (oops!) I love that I’m still getting the exfoliating benefits from this daily cleanser.
If you have dryer skin types, it is recommended that you use less product to prevent drying out your skin too much so please take this into consideration beforehand. The Clean 10 Cleansing Balm may be a better alternative for you in this case.
Cleansing Cookie
What is it?
An ultra-soft, reusable cleansing pad to help take off your makeup when you using cleansers such as the Clean 10 Cleansing Balm. A much more environmentally-friendly alternative to using makeup wipes and ideal for those late nights where you want to take your makeup off in a swipe before going to sleep!
This cleansing cookie is super affordable (£7) and can be used multiple times, unlike packs of face wipes which create excess waste and aren’t as kind to your skin. To wash your cleansing cookie, simply stick it in your washing machine and dry as normal but avoid using fabric conditioner as this could alter the texture of the cotton.
How did it do?
Just like the other two cleansers, I was pleasantly surprised and how my makeup literally came off in one swipe using just water! Even though it is recommended to use this product with cleansers, it proved to work amazingly for me with just water. You can tell from my unboxing video that the texture of this cleansing pad is really soft but in my head, this initially felt too soft to be effective as I was comparing it to the Face Halo.
For someone who loves sleep and wants the shortest evening routine ever, I loved using this to remove my makeup - whether I was wearing just concealer or a full face with heavy foundation, this cleansing cookie did the job! Here’s a video of me using this to take off my makeup when I was in Paris!
Washing this in the washing machine was really easy as I was able to chuck it in with my weekly wash however to ensure that the lovely baby blue colour doesn’t stain, it’s probably best to wash this regularly if you’re using this to remove heavier makeup.
Would I recommend it?
Yes! For me, this product is affordable, highly effective and environmentally friendly so it’s perfect for what I need. Even for travelling, I think this is the ideal solution as it’s super light to carry. The cleansing cookie itself is quite large and as it’s double-sided, you can easily get 2-4 uses out of it before needing to wash it.
Final Thoughts
These products are the first ones I’ve tried from JUNOCO and I’m very impressed with the quality and effectiveness of these products. Cleansing is such an important step in a skincare routine and it can be difficult to find products that compliment the rest of your routine as well as your skin type and all 3 of these products were exactly what they claimed to be. I love all 3 of these products and see these as core products in my routine but if I had to pick one absolute favourite to recommend you to try, it would have to be the Clean 10 Cleansing Balm for the silky and soft formulation and how it leaves my skin feeling post-cleanse.
