Flawless skin in 10mins without foundation
The frustration of wanting to look glam but not having enough time to do so is real. I was inspired to cut down the number of products I use to create a quick, easy, breathable yet flawless makeup look for every day for anyone who is in a rush in the morning! Please note, this post is only about my makeup look and not including my morning skincare regime (which also takes me another 10 minutes if anyone is wondering).I used to the be the person that had to wear base makeup all the time but my recent skincare journey has allowed me to feel much more comfortable in my skin so I've stopped wearing foundation daily! Read all about the product that changed my skin here. For now, here are my trustee 12 products for a quick and flawless makeup look!
Loreal Infallible Pore Refining Primer
Love the texture of this primer. Not silicon-y or heavy like other pore refining/reducing primers.
Loreal Infallible Total Cover Concealer Palette
I use a mixture of the first three beige and salmony colours to correct under my eyes.
Maybelline Instant Anti Age Eraser Eye - Light
I've only started to use this again recently. A few years ago this was my go-to concealer but then I felt like my skin type changed and it felt too greasy. After hearing so much about their relaunch recently, I was tempted to give it another go and I'm in love with it all over again! High coverage, easy to apply and long-lasting!
LA Girl Pro Concealer - Toast
I use this concealer to contour with and add some colour back to my face. As my face is naturally a few shades lighter to my neck, when I don't wear a full face of makeup, I can look quite pale! This blends in so seamlessly and the applicator makes it super quick to apply! LA Girl offers a whole range of shades for this concealer - worth checking out for a brightening concealer too!
Collection Loose Powder - Translucent
I've been using this pretty much every day for the last 2 years! It keeps my under eyes matte and locks in my concealer all day. It's not over-drying and suitable for a quick dust of powder as well as baking.
Benefit Hoola Bronzer
Something I've rediscovered recently! This gives the perfect balance of warmth and contour for me and it takes seconds to blend out. Some blushers/contours end up being patchy on application - especially when you're not wearing foundation, but I've never had that issue with this!
Cezanne Blusher A random buy from Tokyo - it gives me that perfect naturally-blushed colour for my skin. I also love how small the packaging is and it comes with a brush so it's great for touch-ups.
MAC Studio Fix Powder - NC30
Okay technically this is a powder foundation but I use it lightly over my face to set my makeup. Using it wet (spraying Mac Fix+ onto the powder) turns into a medium coverage foundation but this is too much effort for a little extra coverage in my opinion.
MAC Soft and Gentle Highlighter
This gives me a natural, radiant look without it being a blinding highlight. It has a very slight shimmer to it but its definitely more sheen than anything else.
NYX Tinted Brow Mascara - Espresso
This makes doing my eyebrows really quick! I feel very strange if I leave the house with makeup on but nothing on my eyebrows. Although I don't have sparse eyebrows, I feel like I need a bit more definition and this solves that problem! Unlike many other eyebrow gels/mascaras, this doesn't give you a grey, waxy finish to your brows.
NYX Soft Lip Creme in Stockholm / Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick by Kate in 08
I usually switch between these two depending on my mood/outfit. Both very comfortable to wear and I always get asked what I'm wearing on my lips when I wear Rimmel's 08 by Kate Moss!
Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray
This fixes my makeup in place all day (except my nose, nothing can keep makeup on my nose for the whole day). This works amazingly well with the MAC Studio Fix Powder too. Once I've sprayed some of this on, my base looks even & matte!...and that completes my quick everyday makeup look! It's always trial and error when you are looking to create a flawless base without a foundation. This is because you need to find products which sit well on top of your skin rather than on top of your foundation. Which brings me back to skincare - look after your skin and your makeup will look after you!
One brush that I use for this look which is definitely worth mentioning is the Real Techniques expert face brush which seamlessly blends all of my concealers quickly. It takes hardly any effort to blend which helps me keep my routine to 10mins or less - perfect!
One last point: I no longer wear eye products on the daily. One day I was running late so I skipped the mascara but halfway through the day I looked in the mirror and realised how naturally long and curled my eyelashes were - I thought I was wearing mascara! Since then, I stopped wearing eye makeup every day which has actually helped my eyelashes look healthier. They also look much thicker when I do decide to wear mascara!I hope this post inspires you to create your own quick-but-glam makeup look! If you have any go-to everyday products that you love - let me know, I always enjoy trying out new products!
