Best of Beauty 2018
2018 is over in what seems like a blink of an eye! In the last 12 months, I have been able to try out a whole range of makeup and skincare products. Now, I'm here to share my favourite picks with you!Read on to see all of my favourites from this year. A list of products I 100% love and recommend for healthy and flawless skin with direct links so you can enjoy these products too!
Tony Moly - Dual Effect Sleeping Pack
I used a sample of this product and the next morning I was pleased to see my face had a brighter complexion and felt very hydrated! This product is suitable is great for someone who is just starting their anti-ageing routine.Read my full review here.Click to purchase off eBay
Touch in Sol - Beauty Aid Cream
A heavy moisturiser which doesn't make your face looks oily and hydrated your skin does exist! I have loved using this cream this winter and it is great for travelling too. You can use this day and night (I prefer to use this as my day cream) and the metal packaging means it won't explode in your hand luggage when you're flying!Read my full review here.Click to purchase on Cult Beauty
Touch in Sol - No Poreblem Primer
I can't explain how necessary this primer is for anyone who wants flawless, full coverage makeup! I get a flawless base every single time I use this. My makeup stays in place all day long with almost no need to touch up with powder. This primer also keeps you looking picture perfect in flash photography! I feel like this product is underrated and you should definitely check it out if you're looking for a new primer!Read my full review here.Click to purchase on Cult Beauty
Urban Decay - All Nighter Setting Spray
This product is worth the hype! It keeps your makeup on all day, it's as simple as that. When you're in a rush, this works well as a primer too. I just spritz this all over my face before applying the rest of my makeup.Click to purchase from Urban Decay
H&M Angled Kabuki Brush
The most affordable, high-quality kabuki brush I have come across! I bought this brush back in 2014 and have used it for my foundation since! It's dense enough to buff your foundation into the skin while still keeping the high coverage of the foundation. The angle of the brush means that it's also great for blending out your concealer. I loved this brush so much, I recently bought another one!Click to purchase from H&M
Primark - Black Beauty Sponge
I tried this out after seeing Kaushal Beauty use it one of her videos. Even though I prefer using brushes over beauty sponges now, I still bounce this sponge over my makeup just to remove any excess product and blend out any harsh contour lines etc. This sponge expands straight away after dampening it. It's much bigger than the beauty blender which makes it easier to blend out my base makeup. Unfortunately not all the beauty sponges, from Primark are the same, it's only the black one!Available to purchase in-store.
Amazon - Portable Brush Cleaner
This is something you can make yourself as a mini DIY project but I bought mine off Amazon for around £2. Using this makes it so much easier to clean your eyeshadow brushes while you're travelling and you know you're going to be using a variety of colours. There's nothing worse than going for light neutral shades and ending up with a smokey eye because of the excess eye-shadow on the brush from the night before! The exact one I bought isn't being sold on Amazon anymore but I have linked a similar one for you below.Click to purchase off Amazon
Maybelline - 24HR Superstay Foundation
The foundation I have been reaching for all year! It stays put through wind, sun and rain and it does everything I would want a foundation to do. The only negative is that there aren't enough shades in this foundation range and I really hope Maybelline decide to expand their colour range so we can all appreciate an affordable, full-coverage and long-wearing foundation!Click to purchase from Boots
Charlotte Tilbury - Airbrush Flawless Finish Powder
This powder is always in my handbag! To me, it's just as important as carrying my keys and my phone! It immediately mattifies your oily t-zone and doesn't cake up on your skin no matter how much you layer it on to your skin!Click to purchase from Charlotte Tilbury
Mac Cosmentics - Pro-Longwear Concealer
This was a concealer I used endlessly a few years back and I thought it was time I stepped away and attempted to try other concealers in the market. However, I repurchased this again and realised just why I love this so much. It's full-coverage, long-wearing and does not look cakey. Despite being full-coverage, I can wear this alone without foundation and still achieve a fresh-faced makeup look! The only downside is that the pump is quite stiff and sometimes I end up pumping out more concealer than I need.Click to purchase from MAC
La Girl - Pro Conceal HD Concealer
The quickest, convenient and most affordable contouring product! I use this in the shade toast to add dimension to my face before applying any contour powder/bronzer to my face. I feel like this helps to define my face a lot more and my powder contour sits better on top of this. Using a liquid/cream contour always helps to stop your contour powders from becoming patchy throughout the day. I use this on 'no makeup' makeup days as well as when I wear a full face of makeup and I have never had an issue with this product!Click to purchase from Beauty Bay
Maybelline - Master chrome Highlighter
Another product that was hyped all over the internet but after giving it a go myself, I can confirm the hype is real! This gives the perfect sheen to your cheekbones and doesn't have that powdery feel that many high-street highlighters tend to have. Definitely give this a go if you're looking for a new highlighter! If you're looking for a more natural glow, this may be a little too intense for you!Click to purchase from Boots
NYX - Epic Ink Liner
A true black eyeliner in a pen form makes this easy to use from both beginners and pro's! The nib is quite sturdy and unlike other pen liners, this one doesn't dry out half way through drawing out your wing liner! I've purchased this a couple times now and it's one I always recommend to my friends!Click to purchase from Boots
Nars - Climax Mascara
The best mascara I have used to date! I naturally have long eyelashes but I find that most mascaras need a couple coats to get that false lash effect. With this mascara, I only need one (although I do add a couple extra layers because I'm extra). The result? Long, thick, black lashes which add drama to any makeup look! I have hardly worn any falsies since I bought this as I know I can acheive the look I'm goin for with just this one mascara. Definitely recommend to you whether you have short or long eyelashes.Click to purchase from NARS
Maybelline - Colossal Big Shot Mascara
Maybelline offers the best mascaras when it comes to high-street brands but the Big Shot mascara is my favourite! With a couple coats, you will have thick, feathery lashes. The best part is you can add more coats for a more dramatic look without your eyelashes becoming clumpy!Click to purchase from Boots
NYX - Retractable Lip Liner
I have this in shades Nude and Sand Beige which I either wear alone or pair with my go-to nudey-pink shades of lipgloss/liquid lipsticks. They are perfect for me because they are retractable so don't have to worry about sharpening, especially when I'm out and about. If you wear this without a lip balm, you will find it too drying so make sure that you wear a lip balm before applying this lipliner!Click to purchase from Boots
NYX - Soft Matte Liquid Lipstick
I often use this on top of my lipliners (mentioned above). They are great because their is a wide shade range of colours and affordable! Not only do they not dry out your lips, they pretty much last all day too! My favourite shades are Stockholm and London.Click to purchase from Boots
Benefit - Ultra Plush Lip Gloss
I had this as part of a set gifted to me a couple years ago in the shade 'Fauxmance' and I have rediscovered it again this year! I love the natural and 'your lips but better' look it gives me which I can wear on simple makeup days. I have been obsessed with wearing lipgloss this year and this has been one I always tend to reach for.Click to purchase from Benefit Cosmetics
Morphe - Jaclyn Hill Eyeshadow Palette
If you're looking to buy a new eyeshadow palette that offers high-quality eyeshadows in a range of colours which blends effortlessly, get this one! This palette is limited to one purchase per person online because it really did cause a madness when this palette was released. This is probably one of the most iconic collaborations in the beauty world and it the palette really is worth the purchase!Click to purchase from Cult Beauty
Makeup Revolution - Soph x Revolution Eyeshadow Palette
An affordable and durable eyeshadow palette which offers colours to create day-to-night makeup looks. There is a mirror in this palette too so I prefer travelling with this palette over my other palettes. There is a mix of matte shades and shimmery shades to create a whole range of gorgeous looks!Click to purchase from Superdrug
