Review: JUNOCO 2% Caffeine Energizing Serum

One fact about me is that I’m 100% not a morning person! I absolutely LOVE my sleep but the reality is, I don’t get enough of it all the time and I need a little extra help to combat my morning eye puffiness and any under-eye darkness from consistent sleep deprivation. The good news is that caffeine is an effective ingredient in boosting circulation and revitalising your skin and works great as a morning pick-me-up (aside from your cup of coffee)! If you’re like me and are in need of an extra boost to look awake in the morning, keep reading my review below!

2% Caffeine Energizing Serum

What is it?

This caffeine-concentrated serum aims to de-puff and revitalise your skin instantly, whether you use this for just your under eyes or your whole face is up to you! Personally, I prefer to use this under and around my eyes as this is where I typically get dark circles from lack of sleep as well as morning puffiness.

The serum is ideal for daily use and you can use this AM and PM, depending on your preference. The lightweight formula makes it really easy to massage into your skin and a little goes a long way so this product will last a good few months too. (For context, I have been using this for around 5 months now, AM and PM on most days, and I am just past the halfway mark). Because the formula is incredibly lightweight, it effectively gets absorbed into the skin without feeling thick, greasy or with any left-over residue. This makes it ideal for layering on other skincare products and even makeup.

Aside from the product itself, I also love the design of the packaging and the attention to detail. The pipette is angular towards the end which makes it easier to position under the eye to release drops with more precision. The glass bottle also works well to keep the serum nice and cool which aids in de-puffing your skin. It feels so refreshing on the skin and it’s exactly what I need to feel more awake in the mornings!

How did it do?

I have been using this caffeine serum for 5 months now and it’s a staple in my morning routine. The product is great value for money (£22 for 30ml) and it feels great to know that not only are the ingredients completely safe (there are no added chemicals, alcohol, astringents, sulfates, or fragrances), but that with consistent use, it has definitely helped brighten my dark under-eyes too. From wearing concealer and powder for my virtual meetings to just powder and now to just skincare, I feel like this caffeine serum is the best solution to hide my dark circles!

Would I recommend it?

If you’re concerned with dark circles and puffiness, this 2% Caffeine Serum is definitely worth trying! I didn’t expect the results to be so noticeable but it’s such a great feeling when you’ve been consistent with skincare and it actually works. The product is reasonably priced for the amount of product you get - eye-care products are usually a lot smaller in my opinion - so it’s worth investing in this product as it will last you a long time!

The only thing to be aware of is that if you suffer from dry under eyes, this serum may not be able to offer enough hydration and moisture but you are able to layer products on top of this so you could layer up with another eye-cream if needed. Please also remember that topical skincare like this serum can help dark circles by boosting circulation in the skin but any hereditary darkness and pigmentation will need specialist advice.
